I didn't want a doula but I am glad that I changed my mind and hired Ali. She is a loving, energetic woman who cares about the women in her care. During my failed VBAC, she kept me calm and focused. She was with me during my c-section and offered invaluable support when my daughter was rushed to a nearby hospital. She checked on me daily, drove me to the NICU, and made sure I was fed during the most difficult time in my life. She has become a good friend and I am more grateful to her than I can express.

I was in labor for 31 hours with my first, and I knew I couldn't survive that again alone. I was also dealing with kidney stones and wasn't sure how much additional pain to expect this time. My friend had already given birth at the same hospital with Ali as her doula, so reaching out to her was a no brainer.

I contacted Ali very close to my due date, but she was completely accommodating. After one Zoom consultation, I knew I'd made the right choice. She was confident, knowledgeable, and human in a way that put me immediately at ease.

I went into labor around midnight, and she beat me to the hospital even though she lived significantly farther away. She came prepared with a peanut ball, a comb, and motivational cards, which I expected to feel cheesy but genuinely helped when I needed them most. She kept my husband on task with food and water between contractions, and her counter pressure on my hips was a complete game changer. This labor was only 5.5 hours, so the pain ramped up much faster than before. I don't know how I would have gotten through it without her.

Just having someone experienced in the room who spoke English was worth the cost on its own. As a bonus, she captured photos and video of my son being born and placed on my chest. She continued checking in on both of us for months afterward, which was above and beyond. She will always be a part of our lives. I am forever grateful to Ali for making my second birth such a positive, memorable experience. I recommend her wholeheartedly to everyone I cross paths with.

I was so lucky to find Ali just a few weeks before the due date of my first child. I had a consultation with a midwife/doula team but had been told that there were too many births during the summer and that no one would be available to come to my hospital and the only option I had was to move to a hospital in Gangnam. Naturally, as I was so late into my pregnancy, I was reluctant to change hospitals, especially as I had found a place that was so close to home and where their ethics and principles during birth and post birth matched mine. I had been trying to train my husband to be my doula and God must have heard my prayer and sent Ali our way. Someone else had recommended her to us and straight away during our first phone call, we clicked. She was so bright, calming and easy to talk to, that I felt comfortable with her to just ask her to be my doula on the spot. After our in person consultation, where she shared her process as a doula and she listened to our birth wishes, both my husband and I sighed a big sigh of relief and the pressure of being a doula was lifted off my husband's shoulders. Ali would check in on me often to see how I was getting along in the pregnancy, she recommended different exercises and stretches to help prepare myself for labor. And when my contractions finally started, Ali helped me by suggesting different things I could do to help further the progress along. Once I was in the hospital, Ali knew exactly when to come and was there right when I needed her most. My husband seemed to be overwhelmed and Ali was able to set both our minds at ease with her presence. She kept me cool, hydrated and reassured and without her help, I don't think I would have had such a smooth delivery. To top it all off, she was able to record and capture videos and pictures of this moment and it is something I treasure so deeply. She would often check in with how I was doing as a new mum and how my recovery was progressing. She even came for a home visit and her magic touch helped relieve my constipated baby. Ali is such a big part to the start of our parenthood journey and I will never stop being grateful for all that she has done for our family. I would highly recommend her services because it is so much more than that. I will definitely be coming back when I have my second child!
